Profile and Top View of Early Roman wheelmade lamp from Sanctuary of Athena on Akropolis at Stymphalos (Peloponnesos).
Profile and top view of early Roman wheel-made Broneer's type lamp, found intact in the Sanctuary of Athen on the Akropolis of Stymphalos from Fig. 3 Echos du Monde Classique - Classical Views 40 NS 15 No. 1, 1996 - Williams, H. The lamp was found in a destruction layer which dated to the mid-second century BC. This lamp creates a chronological problem, as lamps of this type usually date from the late first century BC into the second century after Christ and it's presence in a level whose other ceramic remains are apparently more than a hundred years earlier is difficult to explain.
