Image Description:

Scan of Profile of Moulded Bowl from Destruction Deposit in the rectangular building annex in the Sanctuary of Athens on Akropolis of Stymphalos (Peloponnesos). from Fig. 2 Echos du Monde Classique - Classical Views 40 NS 15 No. 1, 1996 - Williams, H. In the hearth uncovered on either side of the 1 M wide baulk there was a thick layer of charcoal and ash mixed with hundreds of fragments of Hellenistic mould-made bowls and a few fragments of lamps. Though the mending of the bowels is only in preliminary stages, the dates are clear since they include examples from all five of the major types in use in Corinth in the second century BC prior to its destruction.
