Archive Description:

Digital image in .jpg format depicting a view of a marble block (in situ) with three breast-like protrusions from Building 5 at Kastro Kallithea (Thessaly), facing E from W, excavated in 2005. Building 5 is a small shrine in the courtyard of another building. The marble block was found on the entrance to Building 5. The block is likely cultic as such objects are attested elsewhere in cultic contexts. Such protrusions tops a stele from Phthiotic Thebes and inscribed to the Thessalian goddess Enodia. Other such blocks have been found in Building 10 and the protrusions range from 1 to 3.
